Cancer: Soft Heart, Strong Spine

Our intuition isn’t here to manage everyone else’s moods: unpacking care, control and the myth of being needed.

Hey lover girls!

I hope you are having a really beautiful beginning to the week and soaking in all those delicious Full Moon energies from last Friday (if you haven’t checked yet, there’s a juicy mid-year audit exercise to do)!

This is our final Cancer Season chapter.

So far we have discussed:

Today, we’re discussing one of my most favourite pieces of wisdom: soft heart, strong spine. We came here to love and to be loved, but not to lose ourselves in the process. And definitely not to micro-manage everyone around us under the guise of care.

Both the Cancer (maternal) and Libra (lover) archetypes tend to fall toward over-giving and over-functioning, but their magic - all that beautiful love and care and tenderness - lies in giving from overflow.

This final Cancer Season chapter is a love letter as well as a bit of a reality check: an exploration of the line between loving from overflow vs. obligation. We’re naming the shadows of care: emotional martyrdom, subtle control and the seductive trap of over-functioning. Inside you’ll find a poetic essay, an embodiment practice and reflection prompts to help you honour your sensitivity without losing yourself.

In this week’s voice note, I go deeper into the shadow side of the Cancer and Mother archetypes: where love turns into management and caretaking becomes control. It’s a gentle but sharp excavation of our inner mother, our need to be needed and the radical reclamation of our energy from the undercurrent urge to manage everyone else’s journey but our own.

And so we remember this week that we’re sovereign beings with exquisite standards, and we want to keep it that way.
